Getting there:
Take an international flight to Santiago, Chile, then a 2 hour flight from Santiago to Calama. explora will fetch guests at the airport and drive them to the Hotel de Larache (1 hour drive - 100 kilometers (62 miles)).
Vehicles:
When traveling from and to the airport and to access most of our excursions we use comfortable vans for 10 passengers.
Adequate clothing:
Explorations require comfortable sports clothing and hiking shoes. Warmer wear is necessary every day early in the morning, after the sunset and when going to the high elevations. explora recommends carrying all the necessary items for protection from sun exposure such as creams and sun glasses. Shorts and swimming suit are also recommended.
Pets:
Animals are not allowed in the hotel area.

Insurance:
Although all safety measures are taken for explorations, and we provide the necessary means to resolve contingencies, it is recommended that every visitor has an insurance policy.
Currency:
We accept Chilean pesos, American dollars, and Euros. VISA, MASTERCARD, DINERS and AMERICAN EXPRESS credit cards are welcome for all purchases within the hotel.
Language:
At the hotel, most of the personnel are able to communicate in English. Guides are fluent in both English and Spanish. You are likely to find someone that will speak with you in German, French or Portuguese.
